GE Foundation To Support MPS
Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was on hand as The GE Foundation officially announced it will be giving more than $20 million to Milwaukee schools over the next five years.
Milwaukee is one of seven cities nationally to receive funds from The GE Foundation. Milwaukee Public Schools intends to use the money on leading-edge resources that will help kids get ahead when applying for college.
Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch says it’s an area that’s been lagging: “We know that right now United States students are achieving at number 25 out of 29 developing countries when it comes to science and math. This is absolutely a shot in the arm for MPS and we’re excited about this collaboration.”
