Rebecca Promotes Early Cancer Screening And Detection
Wisconsin’s Rebecca Kleefisch, who survived a battle with cancer, continues to speak out during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging men and women to learn how they can detect and prevent the disease.
Writing in the Waukesha Freeman, Kleefisch noted that the symptoms she experienced were easy to brush off as part of her demanding life. Colon cancer screenings may be the the only way to find the growth and formation of this form of cancer, she noted.
Diagnosed with cancer just before she won her primary election in 2010, Kleefisch underwent extensive chemotherapy after surgeons removed a grapefruit-sized tumor from her. Her chemotherapy sessions were completed a few months after she took her oath of office in 2011.
